Hi I'm Nate, I am a web developer and designer based out of Oakville, Ontario. Having graduated from Juno College's web development bootcamp in May of 2021, I have been exploring ways to expand my expertise and find work that I fill fulfilled in. I have always had a passion for technology and world issues, having double majored in Communications, Culture, Information and Technology, and Environmental Management at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College.

While it would be nice to find work that mixes both my passions, I am overall looking for an environment that can help me grow as a professional. Being an individual with a growth mindset, I am always pushing to better myself and this is something I apply to every aspect of my life.

Screen shot of Piano app

Pian²o

I don't play the piano... but you can! Play your favourite song using your keyboard, mouse or finger. Pian²o allows users to play any song they want as long as they can keep it within one octave. Audio files are saved on Firebase Storage and a specific file is called based on which key is pressed.

Screen shot of Ask Zoltan app

Ask Zoltan

Need advice? Ask Zoltan. A totally unique fortune telling app that totally isn't based off a machine... Part of an agency styled assignment, the objective of this project was to create an app that matched the request of a client. This app allows users to enter a keyword which will return a piece of advice back to them from the Advice Slip API once they have completed solving a maze.

Screen shot of HTML Email project

HTML Email

Converted my Portfolio into a HTML promotional email. At it's current state, it is not yet responsive and images only show on Gmail. I learn HTML tables for this project and hosted my images on Dropbox. Feel free to check out what it looks like on a browser by clicking "view live" or check out the code by clicking "view code".

Other Projects

Star Avoider

Star Avoider is an arcade style game created specifically for the Mac OS. Users are to use the arrow keys on their keyboard to control the UFO in order to avoid the stars. The score counts as long as the UFO stays alive. Users have three total lives and once they run out of lives the game will end. The UFO and stars were created using Adobe Illustrator and turned into sprites through Unity. The game was coded using C#. Since I am not proficient in C#, I referenced code from Blackthornprod's YouTube series "How to make a simple game in unity - endless runner".

Shaken Up

Inspired by Pixar's short animation "Knick Knack", Shaken Up is a 2D animation I created as my final project for an introduction to animation course I took while at Sheridan College. It is a story about a snowman that doesn't realize it is in a snow globe until it is shaken. This project was created entirely through Adobe Animate.
